Princesses and Pirates

Kids enjoying the carnival rides last night!

Ben dressed up for his party!

Hannah with her friend Emily at Field Day!

Eve just being Eve!!
We had a super busy day yesterday, but I just wanted to write down a funny story that proves I am still a blonde! After I spent the morning with Hannah up at school participating in Field Day, I came home and packed a lunch for Ben and Eve for the park. On the way to the park, I decided to get the car washed. We pulled in to the automatic car wash and as the sprayers with soap started; the hood began to smoke. I quickly pulled out of the automatic car wash while it was still going; popped the hood and realized it was just steam from the water hitting the hot exterior of the car. I tried to pull around and finish the car wash but it was already done. I then had to pull out on the highway with suds all over the minivan. I was laughing hysterically and relieved that the kids were not teenagers because they never would of talked to me again. I pulled into our driveway and Derek rolled his eyes the same way he does every Monday when I back into the trash cans like a bat out of you know what!!
The rest of the day consisted of a pirate party for Ben, out to dinner with the family, and a carnival that night.

Fit for Summer

I decided I was going to have Derek take a picture of my not so hot bikini body at the end of this month and start June 1 st with a 30 day fitness challenge. I will post before and after pictures on this blog if it works. I have already started to train for a triathalon that I will hopefully do at the end of August. I am encouraging all mothers of multiple children to do the same. There is no reason we need to be wearing skirts with our bathing suits! If your with me - than get out the digital camera!!

Canada Trip

I was talking to my brother last night on the phone and he is getting ready to go on the annual fishing trip to Canada. It was something my dad and him did together since Marty was a little boy. (I got to go once for my senior trip) It has been 3 1/2 years since my dad passed away and my brother had a difficult time and didn't go for the first couple of years. It is funny how time heals wounds. We all heal on our own time and in our own way. I have bad days once in awhile and last night was one of them. I miss him.

Days Of Elijah

Yesterday we were coming home from the mall and jamming to camp songs. I'm getting Hannah pumped up for camp in August where she will be spending her first week at Camp Manatawny. "Days Of Elijah" is one of the family faves. During the chorus I look back at Hannah and she is crying. I said, "What's wrong honey?" She said that she was picturing herself bowed down before the Lord in heaven. She then preceded to tell me that she was ready to be Baptized. Now Hannah is 7; a bit too young, but you can't make up the fact that God has pricked her heart.

Behold He comes riding on the clouds,
Shining like the sun at the trumpet call;
Lift your voice, it's the year of jubilee,
And out of Zion's hill salvation comes.

sexy legs for days!

Okay- not so sexy. By popular demand, I'm posting a picture 5 days post op. It actually looks a lot better today. I worked out today. It wasn't too bad. I could only do the elliptical and recumbent bike. Tim left yesterday. He's been here for 10 days and the house feels a little empty this morning. I will miss my favorite shopping partner and our late nights playing Yahtzee!

Happy Mother's Day!

Got up and got the kids ready for church; took a Darvocet; went to bed.
Got up and made everybody lunch; took a Darvocet; went to bed. I woke up at 4:00 and called both my mothers and then guess what I did. Okay - I didn't go back to bed because it was the "Survivor Finale"!! Love it - Can anyone else believe that Parv won?
I took my dressing off this morning. I have 29 stitches total and lots of bruising and swelling. I had Hannah take a picture of my leg before she got on the bus this morning but wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in seeing it. It's pretty gross. I get to take a shower today; finally!

Post surgery

Okay, so I don't look like Mrs. America today. I had surgery yesterday and they stripped and ligated my lesser saphenous vein. I have about 20 or so stitches every 5 cms down my leg starting from my groin down into my lower calf. Oh the joys of having three children!(hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and having to wear depends to do jump rope or any type of jumping) You should see my modified jumping jacks. Anyhow, thanks for all your prayers. I am doing exceptionally well and probably doing too much, but you know me- I can't go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink.

Nice hair and outfit! Don't be jealous!

Our Home

I didn't plant these tulips, but I am sure glad that the previous owners did. The great thing about tulips is you can't mess them up. The bad thing is that they will be gone in a couple of weeks and I'll have to do my own planting which just never turns out right

Wacky Hair Day

I'm so glad that Hannah is 7 and not 15 and that this look was specifically for a special day at school. I'm not ready for the kids to grow up yet. I just want to quickly brag on Hannah. She did awesome in her soccer game last night with one goal and one assist. Their team won 3-1. I was jumping up and down like I won the lottery. How embarrassing.
